The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Western Region has assured the people of Wasa Akropong that efforts are underway to fix the faulty transformers that have left parts of the town without power for several weeks.
According to the PRO, some of the faulty transformers will be restored by next week to bring relief to affected residents and businesses.
For almost three weeks now, areas such as the Wasa Akropong Youth Centre and nearby communities have been in darkness due to transformers that developed technical faults. The situation has caused inconvenience to many residents, shop owners, and institutions that depend on electricity for their daily operations.
Speaking in an interview with Agya Yaw Obeng Preko, the ECG PRO urged residents to exercise patience as the company works hard to replace and repair the faulty transformers.
He assured that engineers have already started assessments in the affected areas and are committed to restoring power as soon as possible.
