A teacher has expressed deep disappointment after discovering that the cloth provided by the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) was of poor quality, tearing easily with just a little pressure.
According to the teacher, the material used for the GNAT cloth does not reflect the respect and dignity that teachers deserve. He described it as “cheap and disappointing,” adding that such actions show how the association continues to undervalue its members.
He criticized GNAT for what he called a repeated failure to prioritize the welfare and image of teachers. “How can we talk about promoting the teaching profession when even our association provides us with inferior materials?” he questioned.
The teacher further urged GNAT to take feedback from its members seriously and ensure that future provisions — including cloth and other welfare items — are of better quality and worthy of the profession’s image.
Many teachers have since shared similar concerns, calling on GNAT to restore confidence by treating educators with the respect and value they deserve.
