The Ghana Scholarships Secretariat, in collaboration with the National Investigations Bureau (NIB), has arrested one Emmanuel Ofori for allegedly operating fake scholarship schemes and defrauding unsuspecting Ghanaians of large sums of money.
In a public statement, the Secretariat cautioned the general public to remain vigilant and to rely only on its official communication channel — scholarships.gov.gh — for all legitimate information regarding scholarship opportunities.
The Secretariat further urged anyone who suspects fraudulent activity or may have fallen victim to such scams to report the incident and provide any relevant evidence to aid ongoing investigations. Reports can be made via the following hotlines: 0302907058, 0302907059, or 0302907051.
Officials emphasized that the Secretariat does not charge any fees for scholarship applications or awards.
They encouraged the public to help expose fraudsters and protect the integrity of Ghana’s national scholarship
system.
