President of the Federal Republic of Germany, H.E. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, is scheduled to embark on a three-day State Visit to Ghana from Sunday, November 2, to Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the invitation of President John Dramani Mahama.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency Communications Directorate and signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President, the visit aims to deepen Ghana–Germany relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, technology, and development cooperation.
The official programme will begin on Monday, with President Steinmeier receiving a full military Guard of Honour at the Forecourt of the Jubilee House. The two Presidents will then hold a closed-door meeting, followed by bilateral discussions between their respective delegations at the Credentials Room.
A State Luncheon will be held in honour of the German President and his delegation at the Presidential Banquet Hall later in the afternoon.
As part of his itinerary, President Steinmeier will visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, where he will lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. He is also expected to engage with young Ghanaian IT specialists before attending a reception at the German Ambassador’s Residence in Accra.
On the third day of his visit, the German President will travel to Kumasi, where he will perform a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the Kumasi Technical Institute. While in the Ashanti Region, he will interact with the Vice Chancellor, staff, and alumni of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
