The Chief of Wasa Japa and Adontenghene of the Wasa Amenfi Traditional Area, Nana Attah Baah III, has cautioned residents to stop giving their refuse to jonkeys—people addicted to drugs—to dispose of.
Speaking during the National Sanitation Day exercise at Wasa Japa, Nana Attah Baah III expressed concern that some community members continue to give their waste to these individuals, who later dump it anywhere without care. He said such acts contribute to filth in the community and endanger public health.
Nana Attah Baah III advised residents to take full responsibility for properly disposing of their own refuse instead of relying on people who may not handle it well.
The chief praised the people of Wasa Japa for their active participation in the cleanup exercise, describing it as very successful. He said he would be happy to see such community exercises done more often.
He emphasized that sanitation is vital to human health and urged everyone to continue maintaining cleanliness and practicing good hygiene for the well-being of the community.
