The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, has revealed that he has already informed the Minister for Roads and Highways to consider the immediate termination of the contract for the Bawdie–Asankragua road project.
According to him, the contractor working on the road has delivered consistently poor performance and has failed to meet the required project standards. He added that the work done so far does not meet government expectations or the specifications agreed upon in the contract.
Mr. Nelson expressed disappointment in the contractor’s output and stressed that the people of the Western Region deserve a quality road that ensures safety and smooth travel.
He noted that if the contractor cannot deliver the needed results, the government must take the necessary steps to protect the public interest, including replacing the contractor with a more competent one.
