Despite the Kumasi High Court ruling in favor of the Lumumba family over the funeral arrangements of the late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, his senior sister, Ernestina Akosua Brimpomaa Fosuh, says she is not ready for the funeral.
In a video sighted by PrekoNews.com after the court’s decision on Tuesday, 28th October 2025, Madam Akosua Brimpomaa told the media that she is not prepared for her late brother’s funeral, which has been scheduled for 6th December 2025 in Kumasi.
> “I am not ready for my brother’s funeral,” she stated, expressing her emotions and uncertainty about the upcoming event.
Her statement comes shortly after the court dismissed an injunction filed by Madam Akosua Serwaa, the first wife of Daddy Lumba, who had sought to prevent the family from organizing the funeral.
Meanwhile, the head of the Lumumba family (Abusua Panin), Agya Kofi Owusu, welcomed the court’s ruling, saying it has given the family full authority over the funeral plans.
> “Nobody has power over the funeral except the family. The court has spoken, and we will proceed with our arrangements,” he said.
The court’s ruling and the sister’s reaction have sparked mixed feelings among fans and observers, with many hoping the family can find unity ahead of the funeral of one of Ghana’s greatest music icon
