Nana Bantama, the spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team in the Western Region, has questioned the claims made by the Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi East, Hon. Nicholas Amankwah, regarding his alleged efforts to resolve the recent transformer problems in the area.
According to Nana Bantama, the MP’s claim that he has written several letters to the Ministry of Energy to address the issue is misleading and lacks evidence.

> “If the Hon. MP is telling the truth, he should provide proof of the letters he claims to have sent — with his official stamp. Otherwise, it is just another mind game to deceive the people of Amenfi East,” Nana Bantama stated.
He added that after making inquiries through a friend named Dominic at the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) office in Takoradi, it was revealed that the official complaint about the burnt transformers was actually sent by engineers from the Amenfi East Municipal Assembly — not the MP.
According to Bantama, the ECG boss confirmed that several constituencies in the Western Region are facing similar transformer issues. He noted that the ECG has already begun replacing the faulty transformers across the region, including two that were fixed in the Evalue Gwira constituency just yesterday.
