Nana Bantama, the spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team in the Western Region, has launched another strong criticism at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his campaign team.
In a Facebook post, Nana Bantama stated that the poor turnout of delegates during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour in the Western Region was not a coincidence. According to him, the low attendance was a result of how the party’s leadership had treated the grassroots members over the past eight years.
He wrote, “Team DMB should be aware that the poor turnout of delegates in the Western Region during his campaign is a result of the wickedness of their leaders to the grassroots in the last 8 years.”
His comment appears to suggest that the frustrations of ordinary party members and supporters are now showing in the lack of enthusiasm for Dr. Bawumia’s campaign.
This is not the first time Nana Bantama has criticized the Vice President’s team. He has been vocal in expressing his support for Kennedy Agyapong, who is also contesting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position.
Political observers believe such comments highlight the growing tension between the camps of Dr. Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong as the NPP’s internal election draws closer.
The statement has sparked discussions on social media, with some agreeing that the grassroots feel neglected, while others argue that the turnout might not necessarily reflect dissatisfaction.
As the race for the party’s flagbearer position intensifies, all eyes are on how both camps will respond to criticisms and work to win the support of delegates nationwide.
