The Wasa Akropong District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent William Jabialo, has called on the people of Wasa Amenfi East to actively take part in the National Sanitation Day initiative held every month to help keep their communities clean.
Speaking to Animonyam TV at Wasa Japa, where the Wasa Amenfi East Municipal edition of the exercise took place, Chief Superintendent Jabialo reminded residents that “cleanliness is next to Godliness.” He emphasized that maintaining a clean environment should be a shared responsibility among all citizens, not just the duty of the assembly.
He explained that the National Sanitation Day initiative was introduced by the government and has been decentralized to every district across the country to promote cleanliness and good hygiene.
Chief Superintendent Jabialo further revealed that he had been directed by the Regional Police Command and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to provide security during the exercise, adding that the police will continue to support such important activities to ensure the safety and smooth running of the program.
He encouraged residents to come out in their numbers every month to participate in the clean-up exercise, stressing that a clean environment promotes good health, safety, and community development.
