President John Dramani Mahama has ordered a forensic investigation into the organization of the 13th African Games held in Ghana.
This decision came after the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) submitted a report to the President. The report raised concerns about how some contracts were awarded, how money was spent, and how some projects were done during the Games.
President Mahama has therefore asked the Auditor-General to begin a detailed investigation into all financial activities related to the Games. The investigation will focus on areas such as procurement, infrastructure, and the award of contracts.
The President said the investigation is important to make sure public funds were used properly and that officials are held accountable for their actions.
He also gave the Auditor-General a deadline to submit the full report by the second week of December 2025.
The 13th African Games, which took place in Accra, were a major event for Ghana. However, there have been concerns about the cost of the projects and how some contracts were handled.
President Mahama’s move aims to bring transparency and accountability to the use of government money for national events
