The former Mayor of Kumasi and former Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Sam Pyne, has sent a strong message to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying that when the NPP returns to power, EOCO offices will be established in every district, and only Jesus Christ can stand as surety for bail.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s “Ekosii Sen” socio-political program — monitored by prekonews.com — Mr. Pyne said the NPP will strengthen the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to deal firmly with corruption and financial crimes across the country.
According to him, the next NPP government will not tolerate wrongdoing, and no one will escape the law, no matter their position or influence.
> “When the NPP returns, every district will have an EOCO office. The kind of arrests and bail conditions that will follow, unless the NDC brings Jesus Christ himself to stand as surety, no one will survive it,”
— Mr. Sam Pyne said.
He made these remarks while reacting to reports that EOCO demanded GH¢800 million as part of a bail condition for Osei Asibey, describing it as a shocking development that shows how tough anti-corruption enforcement has become.
Mr. Pyne explained that the NPP believes in building strong institutions that can fight corruption without fear or political bias. He said this is part of the NPP’s vision to restore integrity in public service and ensure fairness in governance.
He concluded by assuring Ghanaians that the next NPP government will work hard to make the rule of law stronger and ensure that those who misuse public funds face real consequences.
