The NDC government, through the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly, is set to cut sod for a major development project on 18th November 2025. The project includes the construction of a 3-unit classroom block and ten boreholes for selected communities in the municipality.
The beneficiary communities are Nyamebekyere, Kojofada, Asesensu, Bonakrom, Dompoase, Baidenkrom/Ayigyiekrom, Kyebikrom, Gyedua, Mensakrom, and Jonjoso.
Although the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Raymond Nana Ebbah, has not officially spoken to the media about the project yet, the initiative is seen as part of the government’s effort to improve quality education and access to clean drinking water for residents.
The presence of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, and Hon. Nicholas Amankwah, MP for Amenfi East, on the project banner shows the government’s commitment to supporting development in the municipality.
Community members expect the construction of the classroom block to help reduce congestion in schools, while the boreholes will provide safe and reliable drinking water for families who have long struggled with water challenges.
- The official sod-cutting ceremony on 18th November is expected to mark the beginning of these much-needed projects.
