The people of Wasa Amenfi East deserve better — and it is time their Member of Parliament, Hon. Nicholas Amankwaah, rises to the occasion and begins to focus on the real needs of the constituency. For far too long, many communities in the area have been left behind in development, struggling with poor road networks, weak mobile connectivity, lack of bridges, and limited access to social amenities. These are not new problems; they have been known for years. What the people now expect are results, not promises.
In today’s world, information spreads faster than ever before. People are now more informed, more alert, and more capable of separating truth from political propaganda. The citizens of Wasa Amenfi East are no different. They can see and compare the level of development in other constituencies, and they are now asking tough questions — questions that deserve honest answers.
One major concern among residents is the use of the MP’s Common Fund and other public resources allocated for constituency development. As a public servant, Hon. Amankwaah is accountable to the very people who voted him into office. It is therefore fair and reasonable for the people to ask: How has the MP’s Common Fund been used? What projects have been financed with the Health Fund and the Monetary Fund? Where are the visible signs of these investments?
These funds are meant to improve the living conditions of the people — through the construction of bridges, schools, clinics, water systems, and other social projects. However, many communities still suffer from poor infrastructure and lack of basic services. It is painful to see that some areas still do not have proper bridges, making transportation difficult, especially during the rainy season. In this modern age, several towns and villages within Wasa Amenfi East still struggle with weak or no mobile network coverage — a situation that affects business, communication, and emergency response.
As a vibrant and responsible media, we are compelled to call on Hon. Nicholas Amankwaah to give a full account of his stewardship. Accountability should not be seen as an attack, but as a necessary part of good governance. The people have every right to know how their resources are being managed and how their representative is working to address their challenges.
We believe it is not too late for Hon. Amankwaah to realign his priorities. He can still make a difference by engaging with the people, identifying the most pressing issues, and lobbying for major projects that will have lasting impact. This is the time to work closely with government agencies, private investors, and development partners to bring meaningful change to Wasa Amenfi East.
The era of political deception and empty promises is over. The people are watching, and they will no longer be swayed by words without action. Hon. Nicholas Amankwaah must prove through transparency, accountability, and performance that he truly represents the hopes and aspirations of Wasa Amenfi East.
The time for excuses has passed — the time for real work is now.
